We have three aging dogs. One has had both rear knees reconstructed and the other two are just fat and creaky. Our vet prescribed some anti inflammatory NSAID's, basically doggy alleve. But man, they're really expensive. I saw these chewable aspirin and tried them out and the results are quite good. No more painful settling down to go to sleep, no more creaking when standing up, no more limping after laying on a particular leg for a while. And they're all a lot more playful and quite obviously feel better.
They take these like a treat, and I'm giving one tablet twice a day to each dog. Thats below the dosage the bottle recommends by a good margin, so I advise starting low on the dosage and working your way up until you get the results you want. The prescription meds are good for 12 or 24 hours, these only for ~6. But even at the increased number of pills per day, this is about 80% cheaper than the prescription products.
So if you have an older dog or one with a bit of arthritis, give it a try. Its working great for us.
